California Outlaws Homeschooling

I just read an unsettling article at the Infoshop News about the State of California’s latest attack on homeschoolers.

It seems that a California appeals court ruling has clamped down on homeschooling parents who are teaching without teaching credentials. This sent shock waves across the state this week, leaving an estimated 166,000 children as possible truants and their parents at the risk of prosecution.

California law requires parents to either send their children to full time public or private schools or have them taught by credentialed tutors at home.

This article goes into many details that are both unsettling and alarming about the moves made by the State of California. Any parent really should look at it to be aware of basic rights that are being stripped.
