Have Americans forgotten how to celebrate Memorial Day? It seems that many Americans no longer have the proper reverence for this day. Civics is not taught in the public schools anymore, God has been removed from official government proceedings, and more and more it seems that the popular way to remember Memorial Day is with big sales at K-Mart and Sears.

Question: Is Memorial Day supposed to be fun?

Really…no, I don’t think so. Meaningful, respectful, solemn, thoughtful…yes. Fun? Not so much.

On this day, we need to acknowledge, honor, and thank those who have made great sacrifices for our continued freedom and liberty.

?I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the gloom I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is worth more than all the means…?
