Protection and Deterrence Provided by Video Surveillance

At the hotel where we are staying right now, a family who is also here attending the same conference had their vehicle stolen a few days ago. I can only imagine the dismay, disbelief, and sense of violation they must be feeling…as well as the shock they felt when they first realized that their truck was gone!

The hotel security utilizes video surveillance cameras and they were able to capture the entire crime as it occurred…unfortunately, that was not enough to catch the criminals and it appears as if they succeeded in getting away with our friends’ vehicle. I have no idea whether the video cameras are visible as I’m not sure what I would be looking for, but this would be a great crime deterrent if surveillance cameras were obviously mounted in common areas. I’ve even heard of police cameras being mounted in high-crime areas as a means of deterring crime and gang related activity.

I can think of many different businesses and uses for hardware that will serve businesses for control of crime and other such activities. This would include bar code label printers, barcode scanners, and a large selection of security cameras and related systems. IT Planet is a great source for this type of equipment. They offer free tech support, free shipping, and a very extensive selection. Anyone in need of equipment of this type will find it here at a very competitive price.
