Family Celebrates Two Lives on One Anniversary

follett-familyWhen Astra Follett was born last year there was a double celebration. Astra is a miracle because if it wasn’t for her, her mother Roxanne would not be alive.

If it hadn’t been for the pregnancy, doctors would not have found a tear in the wall of Roxanne’s heart. The baby was born by cesarean section and then the mother immediately underwent open-heart surgery for her torn aorta. After the surgeries, Roxanne’s husband took off a year from work to take care of his family.

January 24th was the first anniversary of both Astra’s birth and Roxanne’s “rebirth.”
