Google Mars 3D

Posted at 11:43 am under Technology

google-mars-3dNASA and Google have just released a new Mars mode in Google Earth that delivers a high-resolution, three-dimensional view of the Red Planet to user’s desktops.

Not only does this give a great 3D view of Mars, this new Google Mars 3D also provides a way to share data similar to the way Google Earth works.

Users can fly virtually through canyons and climb huge mountains on Mars that are much bigger than any found on Earth. Users also can explore Mars through the eyes of the Mars rovers and other Mars missions.

Users can see some of the latest satellite imagery from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter as well. This new Mars mode also allows users to add their own 3D content to the Mars map to share with the world.
