Chicago artist Kelly Pratt has designed a sandwich for each of the 50 US states. Her project is called “Stately Sandwiches.”

The sandwich has become a staple for many Americans since the early 1900s with the ability to buy pre-sliced bread. Sandwiches bring convenience and portability to mealtime.

The artist has 13 states finished so far. Ms Pratt’s first sandwich creation was in January and it focused on Illinois with an Italian beef sandwich on a white roll with bell peppers and giardiniera.
