We have an almost two-year-old who is having her first summer of swimming lessons. It’s interesting to say the least.
While your baby has experienced water bath time, this may be his or her first summer hitting the pool. Get a cozy baby towel that will dry your infant off fast when they take their water breaks.
If your baby is anything like my baby, this is no small matter. Babies hate to be uncomfortable or cold, so drying off fast is a priority.
I think it’s very important to take care of details like teaching babies to swim. I’m lucky because one of my sons is a lifeguard/swim instructor at our pool. He’s actually teaching my little one to swim in private lessons this summer and it’s going great!
Now, an important detail that I have to mention. Even when small children have had swim lessons, you cannot assume that they are water safe. You must still supervise them in the water at all times to ensure their safety.
Giving babies the opportunity to learn to love the water at a young age can be a lifetime gift that they will enjoy and appreciate for the rest of their lives.
